Life's Like That

Sometimes you wonder what you are doing and why
There are days when you take things as they come by
Sometimes you pursue your dreams with full force
On some days you let fate take its own course
Smallest of things bring you happiness
Biggest of achievements can't take away that sadness
Sometimes you are high ,exuberant and happy
The very person who is the life of each party
And then there are days when you are in the zone
In midst of people you feel all alone
You feel all grown up, mature and ready to take on the world
But deep down is a child needing a hand to hold
Each day brings new conflict of emotions
Your mind is full of different beliefs and notions
Despite all this you keep moving your way
Coz every few steps comes a brand new day
You learn to resolve this stuff in light chit chats
As you end up realizing Life's like that!

Strategic Creativity

I guess strategy class brings out the creative instincts in me [however bad they might be],particularly for following reasons:

a) you have ample time to kill
b) you hear lot of brilliant phrases which mean nothing to you
c) people around you are either asleep or playing on their phones leaving you alone to amuse yourself
d) and last but not the least, copy and pen is the best ammunition you have at that point of time ( teacher still feels you are taking notes)

So here goes............

Weather outside is so great,
but due to a stoke of bad fate;
we all are here sitting inside,
with bored expressions we can not hide;
Oh you wonder what it maybe,
well people its "Strategy";

And then there is recurring pain,
Every time we see "Value Chain";
Michael Porters' Five Forces,
Seem to come up in all courses;
Just when you are feeling dazed,
Here comes "Competitive Advantage";
But prof just seems to be on a roll,
Focusing on " Vision", "Mission" , "Value" and "Goal";

And one day things got suddenly bright,
When two people got into a fight;
Prof looked at them aghast,
Took it as excuse to end class fast;

Next class on things were normal again,
Toyota and Dell were repeated names;
And then came the first quiz,
We had heard in class , we all wished;

I still have 45 minutes to kill,
But can't find words to fit the bill;
Guess I will listen to "Rivalry in Industry",
Till the clock decides to strike 5:30

Friends Forever

This was written in an excessively boring , soporific class on Strategy. Something which happens to all of us. It has no hidden meanings, no morals to look for and absolutely no learning; its basically an outcome of repeated drilling of "core competency" and "value chain" , in your ears for 1.5 hrs. Just when i was about to give it a title, lecture got over; so anyone who reads plz suggest one.

Fights,make up ,laughter and tears
they are there to drive away your fears,
No matter how hard has been your day,
they'l be there for you come what may
Endless nights spent talking
numerous reports generated faffing
Meaningless banter over coffee
and making up stories usually crappy
Somewhere along this stupidity develops a bond of trust,
Only to realise that soon all will be on their way
and promise that this friendship will stay
But, your chats become less , and calls lesser;
soon all you have are yearbook letters

And one day when all world seems wrong and you feel really low.......
There's just one person you need you know;
You do all you can to dig up that number
Call him up up at 2, to wake him from deep slumber
He can't believe its you on the line, and when his tirade of
four letter words is over......
You smile and realize why they call it "friends forever".
