Strategic Creativity

I guess strategy class brings out the creative instincts in me [however bad they might be],particularly for following reasons:

a) you have ample time to kill
b) you hear lot of brilliant phrases which mean nothing to you
c) people around you are either asleep or playing on their phones leaving you alone to amuse yourself
d) and last but not the least, copy and pen is the best ammunition you have at that point of time ( teacher still feels you are taking notes)

So here goes............

Weather outside is so great,
but due to a stoke of bad fate;
we all are here sitting inside,
with bored expressions we can not hide;
Oh you wonder what it maybe,
well people its "Strategy";

And then there is recurring pain,
Every time we see "Value Chain";
Michael Porters' Five Forces,
Seem to come up in all courses;
Just when you are feeling dazed,
Here comes "Competitive Advantage";
But prof just seems to be on a roll,
Focusing on " Vision", "Mission" , "Value" and "Goal";

And one day things got suddenly bright,
When two people got into a fight;
Prof looked at them aghast,
Took it as excuse to end class fast;

Next class on things were normal again,
Toyota and Dell were repeated names;
And then came the first quiz,
We had heard in class , we all wished;

I still have 45 minutes to kill,
But can't find words to fit the bill;
Guess I will listen to "Rivalry in Industry",
Till the clock decides to strike 5:30

  1. u'll say 'strategy classes seem to be fun,
    when you face the "humanities gun"...
    brain gets shut and u'r eyes drop
    but nothing stops the enthusiastic prof....
    take it as fun, take it as a game
    coz in the end they all say - its only u to blame :P
